Meet our Board of Directors

Jason Sheriff

Founder/ Board member of I.D.I. Ministries Inc.

I am originally from Wilmington, NC, and have had off-and-on, ongoing battles with the darkness of addictions myself. The Lord has called and equipped me with the vision and mission for this specific assignment to "Empower other Men to OVERCOME Addictions".
I am a lover of Jesus Christ first and foremost, with compassion to meet others right where they are, as Christ met me.
I am a N.C. Peer Support Specialist/ W.R.A.P. Certified/ Encompass certified on navigating addiction (Addiction Policy Forum)/ Adult Spiritual and Mental Health First Aid certified, Trauma-informed coaching Specialist Certified, Life Coach Specialist Certified, Recovery Coach Specialist Certified (all through American Association of Christian Counseling). I also have my Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification through American Red Cross training services. I love The Lord and love all walks of life and am always willing to give an account for The Hope that lies within me! Showing grace and mercy, for I have been shown much grace and mercy myself

Dr. Richard Sheriff

Treasurer, Board member

I grew up in Eastern NC and attended Pembroke University, Cape Fear Community College, and Shaw University. I proudly served my country in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam, where I received two Purple Hearts from combat wounds. God spared my life for reasons that He showed me later in my life.
My walk with the Lord began at the age of 38 in 1984 at a wonderful church in Wilmington, NC. Being in church most of my life, but never a Christian, I felt God's calling on my life shortly after my salvation experience. I began seminary studies in 1985 and received my B.M. in 1989, M.M. in Christian Counseling in 1991, and my Ph.D. in Christian Counseling in 1995. I opened a Christian Counseling service in Wilmington, C.C.C. (Christian Counseling Connection), and counseled for 6 years before DuPont transferred me to the Charlotte, NC office.
All during this time, I was working for the DuPont Co. in Wilmington, NC. I retired from DuPont Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Dept., Wilmington, Delaware, in 2002. That's when my wife, Judy, and I moved to Southport, NC. We had been retired for about six months when I received a call asking if I would consider Pastoring a church. I spent much time in prayer, and within a month, Judy and I moved to Washington, NC, and I began pastoring First Baptist Church Chocowinity for 14 glorious years and retired again. We have lived in Beaufort County for approximately 22 years, except for a brief stay in the beautiful North Carolina mountains.
When Jason asked me to be part of the I.D.I. Ministry Team, I just knew God wanted me to help. Totally unsure of what capacity I could serve, he asked if I would serve as Treasurer for I.D.I. Ministries. I am eager to serve in that capacity until God grows I.D.I. beyond my capabilities. One of my greatest desires is to be able to help families of the men who will be recovering at I.D.I. Through the past 30+ years of Christian Counseling, this may be the greatest privilege God has given me to serve. I look forward to serving in this capacity and to be available to help with I.D.I. Ministries as needs arise.

Lee Jones

Board member

Greetings IDI Ministries Inc. family, my name is Lamon Jones ( my family and friends call me Lee). I first want to give honor to God and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for allowing me the opportunity as one of the newest board members for IDI Ministries. I also want to thank the other board members for seeing "The God in me" and allowing me to serve. I was born and raised in the small town of Kershaw, S.C. , and had the privilege of traveling the world as I served in the US Navy.

In 1995, I met my amazing wife, and together we have two amazing daughters and a "grand cat" named Grace. I have been employed at Cooke Publications since February of 2000 as a press operator, and in my spare time, I watch Nascar races and I am an avid sports fanatic (GO COWBOYS, GO TAR HEELS!) as well as raise chickens.
Even more so, in this season, I feel the tug and hear the voice of the Lord calling me to serve his people. The ones that are in pits, places, and predicaments that I have been in, too. Because of my degree in the School of "hard knocks" I felt drawn to IDI Ministries in court, and it was easy for me to say yes to the Recovery Courthouse Outreach in Beaufort County because the way I keep my victory and freedom in Jesus is to share with others how he sent me free in 2017, which in turn keeps me humble and help me not forget where the Lord has brought me from. So, with that being said, it is with gratitude that I accept this honor and privilege to serve with IDI Ministries!

Wayne Langston

Board Member

Wayne has been a member of Hope Church for over 20 years. He rededicated his life to Jesus Christ on October 3, 2010, after getting saved and baptized in his early teens. Wayne is the owner of Coast 2 Coast Group, LLC, a real estate investing company, and resides in Greenville, NC.

Wayne looks forward to being a part of IDI Ministries and their efforts to guide men through addiction recovery, and to see God's plans for their lives.

    Board member

I am from Washington, North Carolina. I was born on October 9, 1970. I grew up on Clarks Neck Rd. located in Pitt County with a Washington address. I have an older sister and a younger brother. My mom and dad are great parents. I lost my dad back in 2014. Mom is still alive and I love her dearly. I have been in the fire service for 35 years. I started out as a volunteer at Clarks Neck VFD. I started as a firefighter and moved up to a Captain and training officer. In 2004, I started working full-time as a firefighter and basic EMT. Now I am a SR. firefighter/AEMT. I am also with the Crystal Coast Water Rescue Team. My family and I have been attending Hope Church for over 20 years. When approached by Jason to serve on the board of IDI Ministries, I liked the idea. I want to see men who are having problems with addictions by showing Christ's love and helping them grow in their walk. God uses different people to help with many things, and I feel like God has placed me in the right place at the right time!

I come to IDI Ministries with a heart for men in addiction. When Jason shared the dream and vision for this ministry, I knew I wanted to be involved. I desire to connect with men trapped in addiction to help them find the freedom and life that only Christ can offer.

Currently, I serve as Lead Pastor of Hope Church (A/G) in Washington, North Carolina, and also as an instructor with Pathway. I have served in a variety of roles in ministry including senior pastor, church planter, committee member, instructor with North Texas District School of Ministry, writer for Radiant Life, author of various web articles and a book A Bible Study Companion,  co-editor for The Great Commission Study Bible, author of the blog BibleVersity, and have served in children’s and youth ministry roles. I have a BS in Pastoral Ministries and an MA in Bible and Theology through Southwestern A/G University in Waxahachie, Texas. I am in the process of writing my Ph.D. dissertation to complete my Ph.D. in Biblical Exposition through Liberty University.

In ministry, I have served alongside Stephanie, my wife of 28 years. When I'm not preaching, teaching, or writing, I enjoy spending time with my family, biking, fishing, reading, playing chess, collecting knives, and working outside
